The large popular resort of Alanya, called also the "Pearl of Turkish Riviera", lies at one end of a rocky promontory which juts out into the Mediterranean between two sandy beaches.

The location of Alanya and surroundings is very special: in the south Mediterranean Sea with its clean waters and fine beaches and in the north wild and picturesque landscapes of Taurus Mountains along the seaside. A 13th century Seljuk fortress, one of the most magnificent sights on the coast, crowns the headland. Besides the impressive citadel, tourists should explore the unique dockyards and the octagonal Kizil Kule (Red Tower).

The population of Alanya is about 90.000 inhabitants but during the season this amount is rising a lot because of the tourists coming here for holiday from all over the world. Alanya is a place where the sun shines during 300 days a year and is famous for its spectacular sandy beaches offering a wide choice of water sports. As a holiday resort Alanya offers also multitude of shops with souvenirs, bars, restaurants and discotheques. There is definitely something for every one, a perfect place for families, for couples and for friends.
